Single Phase Energy Meter Wiring Method

There are two connection methods for single-phase smart energy meters: direct connection method and mutual inductor connection method.

1. Direct access method

If the power of the load is within the allowable range of the watt-hour meter, that is, the current flowing through the current coil of the watt-hour meter will not cause the coil to burn out, then the direct connection method can be used. Direct connection method: Single-phase watt-hour meter has four terminals, numbered according to 1, 2, 3, 4 from left to right. Generally, there are two types of wiring, generally 1, 3 is connected to the incoming line, and 2, 4 is connected to the outgoing line; The other is to press 1, 2 to connect to the incoming line, 3, 4 to connect to the outgoing line. Regardless of the connection method, the phase wire (live wire) must be connected to the terminal of the current coil of the meter. Due to the special wiring of some meters, the specific wiring method needs to refer to the wiring diagram on the terminal cover.

2. Access method via transformer

When using a single-phase watt-hour meter to measure the power consumption of a large-current single-phase circuit, a current transformer should be used for current conversion, and the current transformer should be connected to the current coil of the watt-hour meter.

There are two connection methods:

① The connection method when the 5 and 1 terminals in the single-phase watt-hour meter are not disconnected. Since the short circuit in the meter is not disconnected, the K2 terminal of the transformer is forbidden to be grounded.

②The connection method when the 5 and 1 terminals of the single-phase watt-hour meter are disconnected. Since the short circuit in the meter has been disconnected, the K2 terminal of the transformer should be grounded. At the same time, the voltage coil should be connected to both ends of the power supply.
